Our Approach
Understanding Your Vision
Our client-driven process begins with a blank sheet of paper and with us listening - to understand your goals, your values, your fears, and your attitudes about investing and risk. We want to know what counts to you— where you would like to go and what you want your legacy to be— before even starting a plan. Only then will we begin the deliberate process of building a comprehensive wealth management strategy that is personalized for you.
Know Your Reality
Once we understand your vision and goals, we walk through a personal and professional discussion aimed at understanding your current financial reality. These topics include your current assets, investments, income sources, tax situation, philanthropic plans, children's educational needs, estate plans and your retirement goals. We will also further analyze your emotional and financial tolerance for risk.
Begin Your Journey
Only after we understand your goals and current financial reality do we recommend a plan that is personalized for your unique circumstances. This plan will include an appropriate mix of investment, tax, estate, and philanthropic strategies. We advocate asset allocation and diversification which, when done properly, have historically proven to outperform attempts to pick the next "hot" stock.
Your diversified portfolio will have exposure to multiple asset classes that are the most appropriate for your unique situation. We only use liquid, exchange traded securities which include: individual equities (stocks), ETFs (exchange traded funds), mutual funds and individual bonds (corporate, government and municipal). We source both actively and passively managed mutual funds and, when possible, favor investments with low expenses.
Our proposals often trigger further possibilities and discussions—which we then integrate and formalize into your plan for your final approval.
Monitor Your Progress
Our process does not stop after the first plan. Since life and the markets are evolving and unavoidable, we will monitor and adjust your plan and portfolio based on regular review calls and/or meetings held throughout the year.
